MEDFORD, OR — Due to continued unpredictable air quality, Britt Music & Art Festival plans to present the Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4 Britt Orchestra concerts at the North Medford High School Auditorium. All rehearsals are scheduled to continue to be held at North Medford High School, located at 1900 N. Keene Way Dr. in Medford, Oregon.
Local meteorologists report that it is not possible to predict air quality changes more than 48 hours in advance under the current conditions. Unpredictable conditions, the orchestra’s rehearsal schedule, and the large effort required to move the orchestra are the primary factors in this decision. Britt has the best interest of its orchestra musicians and orchestra patrons in mind, many of who fall into the sensitive category of elderly and children.
The Britt staff is monitoring conditions regularly. This decision may change if air quality conditions improve and stabilize. A decision on the final weekend concerts, August 10 and 11, will be made at a later date.
