MEDFORD, OR — Britt Orchestra Music Director Teddy Abrams and management have announced changes in the remaining four concerts in the 2018 Britt Orchestra Season due to possible continued performances at the North Medford High School Auditorium. Logistical challenges prevent the orchestra from performing Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 at the temporary venue, which was originally scheduled to be performed on Closing Night, August 11, 2018. To accommodate this change, the programs for Aug 3, 4, 10 & 11 have changed and will be performed as follows:

August 3: Beethoven & Jonathan Biss

LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major • Jonathan Biss, piano

DMITRI SHOSTAKOVICH: Symphony No. 9 in E-flat Major

August 4: Appalachian Spring

LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Egmont Overture

CHRISTOPHER CERRONE: Will There Be Singing

AARON COPLAND: Appalachian Spring: Suite

August 10: Bernstein Centennial & Anthony Marwood

LEONARD BERNSTEIN: Candide: Overture
LEONARD BERNSTEIN: Serenade (After Plato’s “Symposium”) • Anthony Marwood, violin

DMITRI SHOSTAKOVICH: Symphony No. 10 in E minor

August 11: Closing Night Spectacular

JOHN WILLIAMS: Superman March

PAUL DUKAS: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

RICHARD STRAUSS: Also Sprach Zarathustra

All concerts will begin at 7:30 PM and rehearsal times remain the same as originally scheduled. These program changes will remain in effect if the Britt Orchestra returns to perform at the Britt pavilion. As previously announced, the August 3 and 4 concerts will be performed at the North Medford High School Auditorium. Location of the August 10 & 11 concerts will be determined at a later date.
