The formation of Jacksonville OR Friends of Classical Music, a non-profit organization, was first publically announced in the June issue of the Jacksonville Review. We now have a website as shown below. Enter jorfcm.org into your browser or into Google. Current information about concerts, fundraising, and more will be regularly posted. This article is intended to be a progress report with emphasis on musicians, organization, and fundraising.
Concerts will be held in the ballroom, upstairs at the beautifully restored Historic City Hall in Jacksonville where the setting is worthy of the very best chamber music. With financial support pending, our goal is to offer a concert in January, February, and March this winter, and to have four concerts the following season. Our short list of artists includes: Orli Shaham, concert pianist, the Colder String Quartet, Sterling Elliott, cellist, and the Thomas Pandalfi Trio, a newly-formed group with all three artists being graduates of Julliard School of Music in New York. You can preview remarkable performances by these artists, and many others, by visiting our website, and utilizing the “Musicians” button. You will be directed to Colbert Artists Management, our primary agency, representing some of the finest professional musicians performing anywhere.
To hear such music performed by gifted musicians in an intimate setting makes these concerts worth more than the price of admission. The performances are a great joy for the audience, donors, sponsors, and volunteers. We need your help now for fundraising, and we will need help later with advertising, promotion, concert production, and receptions. Committees are being formed. Please contact us if interested. Your message can be conveniently sent via our website using the “Contact” button. Or, email us directly at contact@jorfcm.org.
Ongoing world class chamber music in Jacksonville will require donations, grants, and sponsorships. Jacksonville OR Friends of Classical Music is an all-volunteer organization and is now fully recognized as a 501(c)3 public charity to which donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Please visit our website for details.
