Kay Faught and Zoe

Dear Editor,

I would like to comment and take the time to extend a huge thanks to our community, and this town, for this past Christmas season.  I cannot tell you how many of my customers, and new customers,  came into my store and mentioned that they were making a huge effort to really buy local and support our town.  Sales this year started very slowly for many of us, but like a beacon of sunshine, more and more customers came in and bought gifts, stocking stuffers, gift certificates, and spent a concentrated effort to find the perfect gift.In some cases they were looking for something specific and would ask who in town might have it.  They asked for help and appreciated the service and they vocalized that.

One woman, in the midst of decorating her home and about to hit “send” on an online order, said she sat back and said “what am I doing, I can get this here!” She walked out, walked down, and bought all her holiday décor from me.  Some customers would mention that they just wanted to see what I had because they are trying to stay in town and buy local. This year was obvious, as many of you spoke with your pocketbooks in support and sales.  It makes a difference, it keeps us here, and helps us serve you better, and offer you what you need to shop at home.  Thanks to all of you and for showing “community.”  I, for one, noticed!
