It’s that time of year to take in the scenes and scents of lovely lavender farms right here in Jacksonville’s backyard. Treat yourself by visiting any or all six local lavender farms on the Southern Oregon Lavender Trail, who are happy to welcome you and yours for Lavender Festival Weekend, July 15-17. Each farm specializes in different lavender and aspects of growing it—making for a very interesting day out. In addition to viewing lavender, there’s music, vendors, and food to enjoy!

Guests are encouraged to check the opening times and dates for each farm which may be different. These are all small, family-run businesses who love to share what they do with visitors and your experience on each of the farms is likely to be quite different.

This year, guests may visit Lavender Ally, Dos Mariposas Vineyards & Lavender Farm, Applegate River Lavender Farm, Goodwin Creek Gardens, English Lavender Farm—and the newest farm-member to join the lavender tour, Kingfisher Farms, located on the upper Applegate River, with 2500 new plants representing 21 separate species.

In addition to taking in the sights and smells, curious guests will have a chance to talk to the local farmers who will share useful growing tips. Farms will be offering lavender treats, u-pick, lavender essential oil demonstrations and wreath-making. There is no better time or place to take a breath and appreciate the splendor of this wonderful herb grown right on our doorstep.
