The Rogue Valley Lions Club is pleased to present our first-annual Central Point Wine Walk on Saturday, September 30, from 4-7pm. This fun event is designed so you can enjoy tasting wines of 10 or more local wineries within a 4-block area of downtown Central Point. Each winery will be paired with a Central Point business along Pine Street that will showcase their business and products. The event will raise funds for club beneficiaries during the year.
The Rogue Valley Lions Club is the offspring of Jacksonville Lions Club that started in 1949. The club has been active in local community events such as the Medford Pear Blossom celebration, the Rooster Crow in Gold Hill, and the Jacksonville Christmas Parade and Communitywide Yard Sale. The club has also contributed to community projects including the Southern Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Center, the Jacksonville Cemetery clean-ups, and periodic trash pick-up along Old Stage Road. We also offer a table rental service for various events that help raise additional funds for our charities.
The Covid pandemic caused a great restriction of club activities that resulted in a membership decline. The new club is planning to continue many of our previous activities and several new ones such as the Wine Walk. We are actively looking to re-grow our membership and are interested in any community-minded individuals who would like to join us in giving back. To learn more, please consider attending one of our meetings, held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday night of each month at Shari’s Restaurant in Central Point at 210 Peninger Road.
