UPDATE: This event for 2019 is now SOLD OUT!

I hope by the time you are reading this October edition of the Jacksonville Review you have already purchased your tickets for this year’s show. If not, visit our website at friendsjvillecemetery.org and look under Meet the Pioneers—Tickets and Reservations or call 541-826-9939, and we will do our very best to accommodate you. This year’s program will take place on Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5 with tours departing at 4:00pm and then every 15 minutes until the final tour at 6:30pm. All tours depart from the D Street parking lot.

These Living History Tours have been an annual Jacksonville event since 2006, and remain very popular and are a wonderful and unique way to learn about the history of the community we call home. Each year, we offer new and different stories of pioneer families and of historical events that took place in the 1800-1900’s. Our amazing cast of players stand graveside in period dress and costumes and share the rich history of Jacksonville and those who rest under the Madrones in the Silent City on the Hill.

This event is the only major fundraiser for the Friends of Jacksonville’s Historic Cemetery with proceeds supporting our restoration and preservation projects, as well as the educational programs that we offer. We thank you for your continued support of our organization and our beautiful Pioneer Cemetery.

Needless to say, with a venue of this size, it takes a village of volunteers to prepare for and put on this two day event. My sincerest appreciation and gratitude to each and every one of you for once again being there to make Meet the Pioneers the success it is.
