Paul Becker has this to share about the event:
The First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville has been running a “movie night” even longer than I have with my classic film nights. This coming weekend, on June 15 and June 16, at 6:30 PM they will be running a film released last September and which drew national attention and strong reviews from Hollywood trade papers such as the Hollywood Reporter. The film is COURAGEOUS. It is a faith based film possessing a skillful blending of moving drama, subtle comedy and several impressive action sequences, including a well-staged foot chase and a harrowing shootout between the cops and bad guys. Set in a small town, it concerns the interactions among four sheriff’s deputies and a Hispanic immigrant desperate for work. The theme — hammered home repeatedly — is fatherhood, and the responsibilities that come with it.
I have seen this film and strongly recommend it. If you are “law and order” oriented you will enjoy its screening.
Again, the film begins at 6:30 PM on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16. We are running CALL ME MADAM AT Old City Hall on Friday, 15th, so for those attending our film, I would suggest they watch COURAGEOUS on the Saturday schedule
