Seems to me the recall organizers are out of touch with the community. I am a homeowner in Jacksonville for 13 years and I appreciate the Fire Department services and though no one is happy to see the surcharge appear, I prefer the current organization of Fire Services to a volunteer group. I know that our well equipped, trained and managed Fire Dept will cost more, and it provides me peace of mind. Paying for the recall? That annoys me much more. Not only is that a waste of my money but it sends the wrong message to Donna Shatz and others who work hard to serve our community. Shame on the recallers. And a shout out to the Council and Mayor “you did good” don’t listen to the recallers.
