Councilwoman Donna Schatz has served the city of Jacksonville faithfully and diligently. She deserves to remain in office. Her decision to vote for the emergency services surcharge is an example of leadership that is duly expected of her. The citizens of our city need adequate fire and EMT response. Her vote assured a continuation of service. I am happy to pay the $31 per month for quick response by our fire department. A volunteer force requires continual re-training of new people due to the inherent fluctuation of qualifiable and available people. That is not a viable option. I am voting NO on this recall and consider it a waste of taxpayer dollars.
