My View – February 2019
Happy 2019—the Chinese New Year of the Pig! This month, we celebrate Jacksonville’s Chinese heritage with another sensational Chinese New Year celebration on February 9. Our good friends at the Southern Oregon Chinese Cultural Association, led by Jacksonville local Jeresa Hren, have another full day of festivities in-store for the entire family to enjoy. Please see our full-page calendar of events on page 6 and also learn what’s happening in Peggy Dover’s article on page 7.
In case you’re curious, if you were born under the Chinese Zodiac sign of the Pig, you are likely to have the following personality traits: happy, easygoing, honest, trusting, educated, sincere and brave. On the flip side, you may be stubborn, naive, over-reliant, self-indulgent, easy to anger and materialistic.
No matter your personality traits, February is a great time to get out and explore a new trail or get a jump start on your garden chores. With spring in the air and town abuzz, you’re sure to find all sorts of interesting events and activities to do including those for music, art, wine, hiking, culinary and history fans.
As always, our print issues are chock-full of “what to do,” as is our exceptionally-popular website and Facebook page, updated daily to bring you all the news in Our Small Town with Big Atmosphere!
