SOHS extends a warm thank you to the Oregon Community Foundation, Ben B. Cheney Foundation, Carpenter Foundation, Pacific Power Foundation, Northwest Farm Credit Services, HamCon Builders, the Jackson County Cultural Coalition, and to the sponsors and patrons of the September Roots Music Festival. Your grants and contributions have made it possible to begin repairs on Hanley Farm barns and the water tower, to increase summer programs offered at the farm in 2019, and restoration work on five other historic structures at the farm.

The Oregon Community Foundation, Ben B. Cheney Foundation, Carpenter Foundation, Pacific Power Foundation and Southern Oregon Historical Society Foundation have awarded grants toward a $76,400 project involving two historic barns and the land-mark wooden water tower at the farm. Work is expected to begin in early 2019. In addition to the grants, sponsors and patrons of the September Roots Music Festival contributed $20,000 toward this project.

Northwest Farm Credit Services, through their community grant program, kicked off fundraising for a second Hanley restoration project involving five other historic buildings at Hanley Farm. Fundraising continues for what is expected to be a $48,400 contract.

HamCon Builders LLC made a substantial in-kind contribution to a $51,000 upgrade to electrical service at the farm. Work began in November and continues later this winter.

The Jackson County Cultural Coalition awarded a grant which makes possible expansion of the summer Sundays at Hanley program. The farm will offer tours of the near-160-year-old farmhouse every Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

We thank each and every contributor for their generosity and continued support – thank you all so very much!
