Barbara Marie Hurd, 63, of Jacksonville, passed away on March 28, 2024, after a strong and courageous battle with ALS. She was surrounded by loved ones and her precious pups, Chance, and Sophie.

Barb was born in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from Edina (MN) High School and Southern Oregon University. She had a zest for life and a passion for outdoor activities, especially bicycling, swimming, gardening, and going on long walks with her beloved dogs. She took great pride and pleasure in her labor of love – her yard, her oasis. Barb was a gracious, caring, and loving daughter, sister, auntie, godmother, and friend. She cherished return visits to Minnesota and was an enthusiastic “tour guide” for people visiting her in Oregon. The Pacific Northwest became a part of Barb, and she relished sharing and experiencing it with friends and family.

Barb was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Berset, stepfather, Robert Berset, stepmother, Elaine Walker, and stepbrother, Thomas Koehring. She is survived by her father, Dr. C. William Walker, brother, Bill (Elayna) Walker, sister, Tina (John) Indrehus, nephew/godson Nicholas Walker, extended family, dear friends, and best friend, Elisa Stafford.

A celebration of Barb’s life will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024

In lieu of flowers or memorials, please consider donating to the ALS Association. Thank you.

Barb will be missed forever and always.
