Jacksonville Review – November 2024
THIS WINTER, on January 26, the beautiful Assembly Room at Jacksonville City Hall will once again become a concert hall when Jasper String Quartet, a remarkably talented, internationally known string quartet takes the stage. A little less than a month later, on February 23, renown pianist, Thomas Pandolfi, will perform the ever-popular music of Ira Gershwin. And, on March 30, The Aeolus Quartet, from New York, will perform at City Hall having recently dazzled audiences on some of the world’s most famous stages.
Accommodations for our visiting artists are provided by the beautiful Magnolia Hotel located directly across from City Hall. Concertgoers from out of town, and those who invite friends and family to attend, are encouraged to contact Magnolia Hotel if additional rooms are needed.
This second season, presented by Jacksonville OR Friends of Classical Music, dba JORFCM, a 501c3 non-profit organization, was made possible by the outstanding generosity of our donors, sponsors, and other classical music lovers who attended our sold-out concerts this past season. In fact, at the time of this writing, tickets for our second season are nearly sold out. There is clearly a demand for chamber music in Jacksonville. But funding in the form of donations, endowments, and grants is critical for success. Together let’s make winter chamber music in Jacksonville sustainable.
