My View – November 2019
When one thinks of November, the Thanksgiving holiday and “counting one’s blessings” is always in the mix. For me, this makes it a good time of year to publicly thank our community leaders and take stock of what we have here. For those of us fortunate enough to live in and around Jacksonville, November is also the perfect time of year to reflect on the essence of what makes this such a special community.
With that in mind, please be sure and check out our “Gratitude Notes” below and continued on page 5, to read what your neighbors are grateful for! Over the last few weeks, I’ve received heartwarming notes and photos from my readers and am thrilled to share them with you here. The notes of gratitude run the gamut and make for a really fun and enjoyable read.
Time and time again, the pages of the Review serve to remind us that Jacksonville is a bit of an anomaly. A marketing tagline used by the Chamber of Commerce reads, “Jacksonville…Where Napa meets Mayberry,” is an apt description in my book. No matter how you describe it, our micro-town is unique and it’s bustling with all sorts of activity generated by equally-unique individuals who are putting their passion to work for the benefit of others. Many of our community leaders are also contributors to this very publication and represent a group for whom I am exceptionally grateful.
This month, join me in celebrating and being grateful for everyone in our community who are making a difference in Our Small Town with Big Atmosphere!
