ARE YOU FEELING THE WINTER BLUES and craving a warm getaway? Luckily, there are plenty of destinations you can visit that are just a flight or two from the Rogue Valley that offer sunshine, warmth, and a chance to relax. Here are some of my top picks for chasing the sun.

First up is Scottsdale, Arizona. This desert city offers warm weather, beautiful scenery, and amazing restaurants. Whether you’re in the mood to lounge poolside at a luxurious resort, hit the links at one of the many golf courses, or take in a spring training baseball game during March, Scottsdale has got you covered. Also known for its lavish spas, it’s a great destination for those looking to relax and rejuvenate. American Airlines has a direct flight from Medford to Phoenix ensuring you’ll be basking in the sun in no time!

Another great option is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This coastal city is located on the Pacific and offers warm temperatures, beautiful beaches, and delicious food. Spend your days lounging on the beach, snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, or exploring the historic center of the city. And if you’re looking for adventure, consider zip-lining through the jungle. American, Alaska, United, and Delta Airlines can all get you there with just one stopover.

Last, (but definitely not least) Hawaii will always be on my list! February is the perfect time to visit as the weather is warm but not too hot, and the crowds have thinned some. Whether you prefer the laid-back vibe of Maui (yes, it’s open and needs those tourism dollars) or the lush beauty of Kauai, there’s a Hawaiian island that’s perfect for you. Spend your days soaking up the sun on the beach, hiking through the jungle, or learning about Hawaiian culture and history. Hawaii also has many opportunities for visitors to give back through their Mālama programs. You can be sipping on that Mai Tai with just one stopover on any of the major airlines that fly out of Medford.
