Major construction progress was made during the month of April at Waggin’ Tails Dog Park. The new park, scheduled to open mid-June is located near the Skate Park, above the “D” Street parking lot. Visitors to the site have been watching excitedly as land next to the skate park was sculpted out to provide separate play areas for large and small dogs. A retaining wall has also been constructed along the side of the adjacent hill and there’s space for handicapped parking, providing easy access to the park for everyone. Safe fencing will surround the perimeter of the play areas and bark mulch will cover the ground areas.
Please mark your calendars for the Grand Opening on Saturday, June 15 at 9:00am and hear from Mayor Becker and canine trainer, John Parrott, who will discuss dog park etiquette.
