Hanley Farm Heritage Plant Sale—This sale is Hanley Farm’s most anticipated and beloved event and takes place on April 28 and 29, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to take home a piece of history to add to your landscape. Once you’ve located your historical treasure, enjoy lunch, take a wagon ride, or visit the Shakespeare Garden and Faerie Garden.
Windows in Time Series—”Goldmines to Woodland Trails: Protecting Historic Jacksonville’s Natural Heritage.” The April lecture will feature guest speaker Larry Smith, the Director of the Jacksonville Woodlands Association, who will talk about two packers, James Cluggage and James Pool, who heard of a small find on Jackson Creek, where they stopped “to water their mules (and) panned a little, and quickly ‘found color.’” Smith will discuss this early find and the history of the Jacksonville Woodland Trails, where it all started. The lecture is from noon-1:00pm, on April 4 at the Medford Library, and April 11 at the Ashland Library.
