My View – April 2023

On the heels of this winter’s weather, it’s a pleasure to see signs of spring in the air… and in the garden. Luckily for us, there are lots of fun events this April to reinvigorate us and get us out and about.

In this once-again-packed issue, please read about BrickVine and SuraTini, two new restaurants that Peggy Dover had the pleasure to visit and report on…tough jobs that someone must do! For the art lover, you’re in luck as the “Artists on the Vine” exhibit opens at Art Presence Art Center, and the talented kids at J’Ville Elementary present their annual art show. History buffs will be delighted with the Beekman House Living History Tours and the Marker Cleaning Workshops and tours at the Historic Cemetery. For the gardener, the Heritage Plant Sale at Hanley Farm is an annual rite of spring that’s not-to-be-missed. Over at the Community Center, new events for adults and kids abound, including a Spring Flower Walk in the Woodlands, led by town historian, Larry Smith.

Be sure and catch Mayor Bowen’s column that details her annual citizen recognition awards, and as always, our talented team of volunteer contributors bring us a look into life in our Small Town with Big Atmosphere!
