Local kids get a surprise gift from Santa

Jim Oakes, who is filling in for Santa at Jacksonville’s North Pole (Santa is so busy right now) got an early delivery of some gifts to give the kids coming to visit him!

David Jesser, City Councilor, Owner of the Jacksonville Mercantile and Chair of the Jacksonville Oregon Business Association (JOBA) delivered a ton of bags of toys today to be handed out. Jesser said the toys had been purchased for an earlier JOBA-sponsored event but had gone unused. JOBA was waiting for the right moment to give them away – and, as he explained, “This seemed like the perfect time – to spread a little joy locally here in Jacksonville!” Santa seemed very pleased – and the kids are sure excited!

It’s great to see the continued spirit of the Season alive and kicking in our small town!

We LOVE these horse and carolers!

THANKS to the Chamber of Commerce for our great Victorian Christmas Celebration, to the Churches and Bigham Knoll for our Living Nativity and for JOBA for donating the added cheer of toys from Santa!

December 17th and 18th are the last days of Victorian Christmas and Live Nativity – BUT remember, Jacksonville is all decked out with lights, garland and our fabulous Christmas Tree – and the BEST shopping in Southern Oregon!!

This is the Merriest Victorian Christmas ever!
