Chamber Chat – October 2025
THE AUTUMNAL EQUINOX marks the transition from summer to fall, a time of preparation and forward planning. For Jacksonville’s Chamber of Commerce, this seasonal shift mirrors our own focus as we look ahead to the holidays, Victorian Christmas, and the beginning of a new year.
Over the summer, the Chamber’s efforts were directed toward telling Jacksonville’s story to both visitors and residents. Through targeted marketing and advertising campaigns, we showcased the many opportunities our town provides: shopping in locally owned stores, enjoying diverse culinary offerings, staying in historic inns, outdoor adventuring, attending performances at the Britt Festival, tasting wines from award-winning wineries, and experiencing history on the trolley. These activities not only attract visitors but also highlight the unique character and strengths of Jacksonville as a community.
Still, it is not attractions alone that define Jacksonville. At its core, our town’s strength lies in its people—the business owners, employees, volunteers, and neighbors who create the welcoming atmosphere that sets Jacksonville apart. This sense of community was evident at our recent Chamber meeting, where preparations were initiated for major holiday traditions including the Victorian Christmas Parade, the Holiday Trolley Lights Tour, and the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Volunteers readily accepted responsibilities, with the shared understanding that these events are organized not only to entertain, but to strengthen the bonds of community and bring joy to families and visitors alike.
The Chamber now invites members of the community to join us on October 15th for our next gathering(location TBA on www.Jacksonvilleoregon.org and emailed to members). The meeting will provide an opportunity to collaborate on creating a cohesive retail presence during the holidays, share new ideas, and review a digital marketing campaign co-sponsored with Travel Southern Oregon. This initiative is designed to support local businesses and increase activity during the shoulder season, further strengthening our economic foundation.
As we move into the final months of the year, the Chamber remains committed to supporting Jacksonville’s businesses and fostering community engagement. By working together, we ensure that Jacksonville continues to thrive as both a welcoming destination and a strong, connected community.
