Join David Drury and Asifa Kanji, as they host a lively discussion about their time spent with the Peace Corps in Mali, on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 2-4 p.m., at the Jacksonville Branch Library, 340 W. C Street.
Based upon their memoirs, Three Hundred Cups of Tea and The Toughest Job You’ll Ever Love, the discussion will include pictures, music, and readings from their book. The presenter’s experiences are set amongst the backdrop of one of the hottest, and poorest parts of Africa. The recounting of their fourteen month odyssey will introduce you to the warm-hearted Malian people, and their way of life. Their experiences culminate with the military coup, and the Peace Corps evacuation from Mali in 2012.
