The Carriage House Restaurant & Bar, which opened in September, is located on the historic Nunan Estate, just a short walk from downtown Jacksonville. Owners, and long-time Rogue Valley residents, Brent and Shannon “Sam” Monning, are driven by a strong sense of place and purpose. “Everything in this place has a story to tell,” Monning said. “The story of this restaurant is tied to the story of this neighborhood—it’s full of history, but it’s also refreshed, revitalized and new.”
Under the leadership and creative talents of Executive Chef Keenan McGrew, the team has developed a unique menu that features contemporary American cuisine with a French twist, while committing to fresh, locally-sourced, sustainable ingredients that nourish the body and the soul. If the food is superbly elegant and delicious, the environment is equally warm and cozy. Guests can sit at the beautiful onyx bar that wraps around the open kitchen, or dine on the patio to take in views of wildlife roaming the quintessential Victorian property.
If you’re in the mood, the bar serves creative cocktails highlighting custom mixes, freshly-squeezed juices and local ingredients. You’ll also find an array of craft beers drawing from both local and west-coast breweries, and a selection of local wines designed to pair well with the restaurants artisanal menu.

We hope you grab some cards, or the box of my grandparents’ Scrabble, and enjoy a night out with friends and loved ones. We want you to feel at home. We’re going to spoil you with incredible food, but we also really want to be ‘the place where everyone knows your name!’”
