ART’clectic “Garden Party” Group Exhibition—ART’clectic takes over the gallery at Art Presence with a “Garden Party” show for May! The group offers original pieces created by sixteen of the group’s artist and artisan members, an eclectic mix of framed fine art, giclée prints, home and garden decor items and furniture, photography, pine needle baskets, textile art, jewelry, and pottery. The show opens at 11:00am on Friday, May 5, continuing every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am-5:00 pm through May 28.
Featured in the Garden Party show is the glass art of Sheri Croy, which combines color and movement into intricate original designs which express her love of the ocean. She achieves her art by layering cut or torn tissue and novelty papers onto three-dimensional glass. Sheri describes herself as a “land-locked hula dancer,” deriving her inspiration from land, sea, nature, and sky. Sheri’s art adorns jewelry, votive candleholders, ornaments, and larger glass pieces designed to be illuminated from within. She also works with watercolors, acrylics, colored pencils, and inks to create two-dimensional art works. To speak with Sheri and learn more about her technique, come to Art Presence on Saturday, May 6th, from noon-3:00pm. She will be at the gallery again on Saturday, May 20th at the same time.
Created in the summer of 2014, ART’clectic is a group of southern Oregon artists and artisans who meet monthly to discuss marketing their creations. Holding pop-up events was one idea that intrigued the group and they have since held several events in Jacksonville. Meet the artists and artisans of ART’clectic at an Artisans’ Reception from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, May 6, with refreshments and live music by Matt and Rebecca Stuart of Minstrel Streams.
When visiting the gallery, be sure to share your email address for a chance to win ART’clectic’s raffle basket, which they will give to one lucky winner on May 28.
