The surface of a print can never match the luscious textural variations of a painting. Whether created on canvas, wood, or mottled watercolor paper, original paintings have a touchable quality that sets them apart.

When you choose an original piece of artwork and bring it into your personal space, it becomes a focal point. Whether your artistic taste runs to the bold and graphic or leans toward vintage landscapes, the painting you choose is bound to have a big impact on your space, bringing a “Wow!” factor into the room.

Just looking at a painting you love can refresh your spirit and inspires your own creativity.

June Exhibitions—Our current exhibition of works by Art Presence members, Gardens Gone Wild, continues through June 17. Then, beginning June 18, you will begin to see artists painting around town as part of the 2018 Southern Oregon Plein Air Event. The works they create will go on display at the gallery. See the Southern Oregon Artists Workshop’s article about the event for more details.

Free Concert—Art Presence hosts a free concert by Minstrel Streams on Sunday, June 3, from 2:00-4:00pm. Bill Binkelman of Zone Music Reporter says of the musical duo, “While listening… I recalled many classic recordings from the days of both Windham Hill and Narada in that the music has that ‘classic’ acoustic sound present on both labels, especially at their outset. There is a sonic richness and an emotional depth present here that goes beyond just ‘good music and well played.’” Their critically acclaimed CD, “New Horizon,” was recorded at Windham Hill co-founder Will Ackerman’s legendary Imaginary Road Studios in Vermont. It reached a global audience with radio airplay around the world…and was a contender in the 57th GRAMMY Awards. Minstrel Streams will warm your hearts and souls. Come to Art Presence and share the experience!

Thanks—We extend a big thank-you to Rob Buerk and the Board of the Jacksonville Boosters Foundation for granting us the monies to place new art display panels in our main gallery—a gift which has boosted our professional image and provides our artists with a beautiful ground for their works of art.

We also reach-out to the City of Jacksonville with gratitude for a grant from the Bed Tax Fund to place a new and more efficient hanging system on the walls of our main gallery.

Grand Re-OpeningSave the Date—You are invited to attend our Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, September 1, from 1:00-3:00pm. Mark your calendar and plan to join us as we celebrate the renovations that have transformed our gallery space! Our September show will include a must-see invitational exhibition of paintings by Dan Mish of The Studio at Living Opportunities on the back wall of the main gallery.
