Up and Away!—Our March-April show of uplifting art and guest exhibit of paintings by Zoe West continues through Sunday, April 28.

April is National Poetry month!—People had such fun last time that Art Presence unleashes Poets on the Loose for a second year. On Saturday, April 13, you can expect to find poets and poetry enthusiasts offering to recite poems to random people on the street. Be ready to say “Yes” when they ask you—you’ll receive a free poetry reading on the spot and a copy of the poem to take home with you.

You’ve written a book…now what?—David and Ginna Gordon are here to help. Owners of Lucky Valley Press, a Jacksonville-based publishing company, the Gordons can help you polish your work and successfully navigate every phase of publishing your book. Come to the gallery on April 12 at 5:00pm to hear them discuss a pre-press checklist for creating a book, digital publishing, and more important information indie authors need to know. “The key to success is in the details.”

Speaking of indie authors, please plan to attend our May reception to hear author Peggy Dover reading from her new book, “Trips and Tangents.”

Anne Brooke’s Basic Drawing for Adults classes filled up incredibly fast! Because of this amazing show of interest, we may consider bringing it back sooner than later. Meanwhile, the kids’ turn is right around the corner and it’s time for interested youth age 6-12 to register for our FREE drawing class. Taught by Brooke Nuckles, the class and provided materials are made possible by a grant from the Haines Foundation. Register at the gallery or call 541-941-7057 to sign-up.

  • First Session: June 11-July 16, Tuesdays, 5:30-7:00pm
  • Second Session: July 30-September 3, Tuesdays, 5:30-7:00pm

Remember to mark your calendars for a show of works from the 2019 Southern Oregon Plein Air event in mid to late June. Details TBA.

In last month’s issue we mentioned that we were remodeling our front desk. This month we are happy to report that this project is complete. As you can see in the picture, the result is classy and so much more functional. Many grateful thanks to the donors who made this possible.
