State of the Art Presence – March 2026
THERE’S A LOT OF NEW ART at the gallery this month, including our Guest Artist exhibition as we welcome talented young artists from North Medford High and feature one of our Member Artist’s photography…and some fun classes. Come check out all the fresh goings-on at our gallery and art center this month!
Guest Artists: North Medford HS Fine Arts Art students, March 4-March 29; Reception, Saturday, March 7, 1-4pm—We’re excited to present the North Medford High School Fine Arts Advanced Placement (AP) Art students. Students in “AP Art” and “Design 2” classes are exploring their own investigations for their AP portfolios, which will be submitted to the AP board for judging in May. Come out, explore for yourself, and discover the amazing work that these budding young artists have created. Each piece of art will be paired with an overview of each student’s personal journey in creativity.
Member Artist: Photographer Susan Quinn—Susan’s show, Winter in Hokkaido, reflects the artist’s delight, capturing the magnificent and mystical scenery she encountered in Northern Japan. Through her lens, she has captured the unique beauty of the winter landscape. Susan enjoys working in black and white as it intensifies the natural form of the places she visits. Susan Quinn is also a member of The Guild of Creative Arts.
Messy Hands: Acrylic Flowers with Silvia Trujillo, Saturday March 14, 1:30-3pm—Let’s paint some spring flowers! Using acrylic paint and a few different subjects to choose from, you will be guided in creating a lovely Spring floral. All materials are provided. No previous experience necessary. Limit 15, fee $5. Third Saturdays: Simple Jewelry Metal-Smithing with Pam Lund, Saturday, March 21, 12:30-4:30pm—Join us in learning fundamental techniques for texturing, shaping and forming sheet metal and wire. Use these skills with basic hand tools to create an original piece of jewelry, earrings, a pendant or brooch to wear. Tools and a variety of metals, beads and findings will be provided by the instructor. Limit 10, Fee: $40. Book of the Month: Deanna St. Martin “I Am Resilience”—Deanna will be offering a reading and discussion of her new book, as well as signing copies for attendees.
