Special Day of Remembrance and Memorial Service, Monday, July 28—Please join us for this special day of Remembrance and Memorial Service to mark the 100th Anniversary of the beginning of World War I, also known as the Great War or The World War. During the event, a prayer service will be offered by Pastor Richard Evans of Jacksonville’s First Presbyterian Church.
Poems of the era will be presented and the names of those World War I Veterans resting in the Jacksonville Cemetery* will be read aloud. The service will begin at 10:00am and is open to all. If you know of a World War I Veteran whose Jacksonville Cemetery gravesite may not identify them as a veteran, please contact Dirk Siedlecki at 541 826-9939 or djsmhs@embarqmail.com so their name may be included in the service.
