Across the nation, faith communities are increasingly engaging in climate action.  These efforts are varied, ranging from concerted efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to providing support to frontline communities, framed from an ethical or spiritual perspective.  Join us to hear an overview of faith-based climate action underway in Oregon and elsewhere and discuss how Southern Oregon climate activists may help stimulate additional faith-based action in our region.

The presentation during SOCAN’s June monthly meeting from 6:00 – 7:00 pm on June 28th will feature Cherice Bock, Creation Justice Advocate, with the Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon AND Oregon Interfaith Power & Light

SOCAN meets monthly, currently via Zoom, with speakers and movies on topics related to climate change. These meetings are free and open to the public.

There is no charge for joining the ZOOM meeting, but participants should register at the link on the SOCAN calendar event: https://socan.eco/events/
