*April 8th, 10:00am, Bees at the Nursery—We will be installing a hive at the nursery this spring and want to share all the bee activity! This is a fun talk to help understand what bees do to have a happy and productive hive. Learn how they “talk” to each other, how they build, clean-up, raise babies and swarm. Then, look at the parts of a real beehive, see the tools beekeepers use and the flowers and trees beekeepers and orchardists plant to feed the bees all year. April 22nd, 10:00am, Firewise Plants—It has become an increasing concern to use firewise plants in the Rogue Valley. Join us for this specialized class that focuses on useful plants for our area that are firewise, drought-tolerant, and deer resistant. Landscapers, this class qualifies for 2 hours of CEH credit. *April 29th, 10:00am, Permaculture- Planting a Fruit Tree Guild—Join permaculture expert and local landscape designer Andy Fischer of Sacred Earth Design/Build (LCB 9271) in this hands-on class. We have a new patio area that will be planted using permaculture principles—where everything has multiple uses and plants are arranged to benefit the entire community. We’ll design and plant the space to provide fruit, build soil, attract pollinators and be a beautiful sitting area. Landscapers, this class qualifies for 2 hours of CEH credit. Registration fee $15. All classes begin at 10:00am and are located at the nursery unless indicated otherwise, space is limited so please be sure to register for classes. During classes there will also be a sandbox, treasure hunt, and some kid-friendly activities (children are still under parents supervision) as well as hot coffee and refreshments. *Denotes kid friendly class, bring your age-appropriate child for no charge.
