In response to the extreme heat weather advisory and the urgent need for relief in the community, The Salvation Army Medford is proud to announce the expansion of its cooling station services to include a brand-new indoor resting area. This addition aims to provide a comfortable and safe space for individuals and families to seek respite from the scorching temperatures.
With temperatures soaring and the well-being of our community members at the forefront of our concerns, The Salvation Army Medford is committed to extending its support by introducing the indoor resting area to complement the existing cooling station services. The indoor resting area will offer a haven from the heat, complete with comfortable seating, refreshments, and water, creating a space where individuals can recharge and escape the oppressive weather conditions.
“As extreme heat continues to affect our region, we recognize the need for a comprehensive approach to providing relief to our community,” said Major Randy Mulch, Corps Officer The Salvation Army Medford. “The new indoor resting area serves as an extension of our commitment to helping those in need. We want to ensure that everyone has a safe place to find relief and respite during this challenging weather.”
The expanded cooling station services, now featuring an indoor resting area, will be available next week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 1PM-5PM, at The Salvation Army main office at 304 Beatty Street in Medford.
The Salvation Army will continue with other Cooling Station services that includes access to free water, snacks, and a fan are available at the following times and locations.
- 304 Beatty Street, Medford OR- Mon thru Friday 9-Noon and 1-4:30 PM
- Social Services Office located at 922 N. Central Ave. Medford open M, T, TH, Fri 9AM-3PM
The Salvation Army Medford encourages individuals to take advantage of these services and urges community members to check on their neighbors, especially the elderly and those who might be at higher risk due to the heat.
