Summer Music camps
Instruments of the Orchestra: Brass-Woodwinds-Strings-Keyboards-Percussion-Vocal/Conducting (finale)
We are excited to announce that the Britt Institute, in partnership with The Bigham Knoll Child Enrichment Center in Jacksonville, Oregon, will be offering six one week camps this summer at Bigham Knoll. Each week is dedicated to a section of the orchestra with our final week camp is a culmination of all the prior week’s work. Kids have an opportunity to listen to each instrument, played by a professional. When you bring your child to a concert on the Britt Hill, you will see just how excited they are to know the names and sounds of each of the instruments!
Weekly Adventure Camps
June 4th-June 8th: Lights, Camera, Action! Drama Camp
Come join us on our real performance stage! Students will create the set and costumes for a Broadway worthy production! Learning lines, rehearsing and becoming young actors and actresses will be part of this amazing week! Bring your camera for the final performance at the end of the week!
June 11th-June 15th: Wilderness 101, Survival Camp
Can you survive in the great outdoors? Join us for a week of outdoor adventures as we explore the Britt Trails, build forts, navigate maps and learn about edible plants. Bring your fishing gear for our field trip to a local fishing hole!
June 18th-June 22nd: Outer Space Adventures Camp
Have you ever been to Mars? Join us as we play in our very own space station and rocket ship! We will create clay planet sculptures to fire in our kiln and build our own robots!
July 9th-July13th: Enchanted Castles Camp
A world of make believe is waiting for you in our very own enchanted forest! Fairies, Princesses, Knights and Elves are welcome to join us! We will be creating costumes, building our own castle and ending the week with a ball fit for kings and queens!
July 16th-July 20th:Little Sprouts Gardening Camp
Observe! Explore! Engage! Bring your gardening gloves for this hands on camp! We will be planting flowers and vegetables, observing and hatching caterpillars and monitoring our root garden. With all of the amazing gifts nature has to offer our week will be full of fun!
July 23rd-July 17th: Ahoy! Pirate Adventures Camp
A magical trip through the seven seas will lead your child to treasure, mystery and adventure! We will be creating telescopes, flags, pirate hats and treasure chests! Water balloon cannon balls and treasure hunts make this a favorite week for all little pirates!
July 30th-August 3rd: Construction Junction Camp
Bring your mechanical mind for a week of building and investigating! Can you build a building out of toothpicks and marshmallows? Can you drop an egg without it breaking? Perfect for your little Lego lover, this camp will challenge your child to think outside the box and explore his and her creativity!
August 6th-August 10th:Dinosaur Detectives Camp
Rooooarrrr! Join us as we explore these beloved creatures! We will use our detective skills to learn more about specific Dinosaurs. How big were they really? Let’s measure and find out!
August 13th-August 17th: Amazing Artists Camp
Prepare for a messy week! Students will get to dive head first into a rainbow of creativity while creating murals, sand art, clay sculptures and other messy masterpieces!
August 27th-August 31st: Splish Splash! Water Camp
What better way to end the summer than getting wet and wild in the sunshine!? Daily trip to our local pond, water pipe building, water balloons and an outdoor water table will keep us cool this week! We will end the week with a trip the Central Point water park!
