A Few Minutes with the Mayor – February 2019

One of the joys of being your Mayor is introducing you to the wonderful people who make our city work—the fine, professional staff at City Hall. At City Hall, I’m glad to say, you’ll find people who actually care about helping you and I’m happy to introduce you to some of them now!

Stacey Bray

Stacey Bray heads up the whole shebang. Employed since 2008, she is well-versed in every aspect of administration. Possessing an infectious laugh, she was born in eastern Oregon, moved to Seattle and can boast of being a licensed Realtor in both Washington and Oregon. She has been in management positions in the medical field, higher education and real estate. Stacey has three daughters: Cheraea who lives in Seattle, Beth who lives in Irvine, California, and Lexi who lives in the Rogue Valley. Stacey spends her free time with her husband, Eric, enjoying time at the dunes, going to dirt track races and traveling.

Heidi Nelson

Heidi Nelson: When visiting City Hall, a visitor’s first impression comes with a smile and a warm western style, “Howdy and how can I help you?” from our receptionist, Heidi Nelson. Heidi was born in Enterprise, Oregon, and comes from a line of Oregon pioneers. Now a resident of Jacksonville, she has a son, Caleb, 8, who attends Jacksonville Elementary and a daughter, Seanna, 13, who attends school in Ruch. Heidi plans on home schooling after 8th grade. Heidi volunteers for city activities, kids organizations and the Haunted Trolley Tours. Even with all this, she’s never too busy to help if needed.

Angela Watson

Angela Watson: Sporting an All-American, girl-next-door bright smile, Angela Watson serves as the City’s Records Clerk where today’s events become tomorrow’s history. Angela is a second-generation local, a real Rogue Valley native whose grandfather served in the Navy with distinction in WW2 including the attack on Pearl Harbor. Angela and husband Don have two children… Jacob, 16 and Audrey, 13, plus two dogs and one cat. She enjoys cooking and dishes-up soups making Campbell’s look like dishwater. For Angela, family is everything…it is her life.

Debbi Perkins

Debbi Perkins: Debbi is our Public Works Clerk. If you have a question about your water bill or public works, she’s your gal. Debbi went through a major career change when she left her position as a dental assistant with ten years of experience and joined our City staff. Her hobbies include photography, sports activities with her children, and camping. Growing up in Central Point, she and her husband Dan have four children… Sarah, Ashlee, Josh, and Trae and four grandchildren.

Stacey Pitman

Stacey Pitman: Backing-up Debbi is our Utility Clerk, Stacey Pitman. Sporting a warm, pulchritudinous smile and looking more like a gal on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens, you would never know she came from the Medford District Attorney’s office where drama abounded as part of the job. Stacey and husband, Chad, have four children… Cameron, Samantha, Madison, and Cambria. Cambria is home-schooled, making Stacey’s day a lot longer with papers to be corrected at night.

These are some of the people who make City Hall work. They also make my day more pleasant and a lot easier. And if you need help or something done, they’ll make your day better also.
