October 22, 1936 – July 26, 2019

Patsy Ann Mitchell, 82, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2019 at Vista View Mood and Memory Care, Central Point. She was the second of four children, born October 22, 1936 in Arp, Texas. She moved to Alameda, California as a child in the 1940s, later to the Rogue Valley in the 1960’s.

In her youth she worked in food service. After moving to the Rogue Valley she worked at a nursing facility in Jacksonville where she met her late Husband, Edward Robert Mitchell. Together they had several businesses, before retiring in Jacksonville. Patsy was an artist at heart and was very creative and enjoyed painting, needlework, weaving baskets of various materials and creating dolls.

Patsy was a resident and an active member of the Royal Mobile Estates community for many years. She also lived in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico for a short time, and in Naples, Florida.

Survivors include her son, David Wendell Clinton, daughter, Melody Ann Tyler Cole, sister, Joan Roberta Taylor, brother, William Robert Taylor, and six grandchildren, Natoysha, David Jeremy, Jacob, Devin, and Tyler.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Edward Robert Mitchell, son, Larry Dean Harper, sister, Betty Jean Scogin Bird, mother, Gladys E. Vick Scogin Taylor, and father, David Jefferson Scogin.

 Patsy will be laid to rest in the family plot in Jacksonville Cemetery.
