The Old Library Collectibles and Thrift Shop is located at 170 South Oregon Street in the historic 1855 Brunner Building at the corner of Main Street, across from Good Bean Coffee. The Collectibles was established at the turn of this century by the non-profit organization Jacksonville Seniors, Inc. when the new library was constructed. Jacksonville Seniors’ mission has been to raise funds to donate toward building an expanded Jacksonville Community Center.
We have given the Community Center nearly $200,000 toward the new building which is now open for public rentals such as mid-size conferences, parties, receptions, meetings and classes. The Shop also makes monthly contributions to the local Food & Friends program that provides a much-needed service of meals for homebound seniors.
The shop is staffed by local volunteers who sort and price donations, and operate the retail shop. Jacksonville Seniors, Inc. is always on the lookout for new volunteers. A once-a-week, three-hour shift guarantees fun interactions with other volunteers, visitors and local shoppers. Our working conditions are pleasant, stress-free and entertaining. For more information or to become a volunteer please call 541-301-1685.
The Collectibles Shop operations rely on donations of your much appreciated tax-dedicational and resalable items. We accept good condition housewares, clothing, books, jewelry, artwork, and unique gifts. These items can be donated at The Warehouse adjacent to 160 E. Main Street or during open hours 11:00am-3:00pm, Tuesday-Saturday at the Collectibles Shop.
