Frau Kemmling is hosting the 4th annual Oktoberfest at the Bigham Knoll Campus September 24th, 2011. Opening ceremonies start at noon with an official keg tapping that leads into a non-stop schedule that offers something for everyone! As in years past, thousands will celebrate with authentic German food, three beer gardens & Black Forest themed activities for the kids.
Traditional Oom-pah Bands will play throughout the day starting with Michele & Her Oktoberfest Orchestra shortly after noon and continuing with The Sauerkrauts, DJ Rhine-lander & the Frankie Hernandez Band. Enjoy the Oom-pah music, show off your yodeling skills & join the crowd partaking in polka lessons.
Wander through the Bigham Knoll campus and shop for Lederhosen or a new Dirndl. Take part in the Black Forest Cake competition or if
you’re feeling more like a spectator, sit back and enjoy watching culinary demonstrations of “The Three S’s of German Cuisine; Spaetzle, Schnitzel & Sauerkraut.”
Take a break from the frivolity by hopping on a bus tour of Jacksonville to explore the various sites of Jacksonville’s brewing history throughout the day, benefiting the Jacksonville Heritage Society.
