Marilyn Joy Earl, 90, passed away peacefully at her Jacksonville home on June 19, 2019. Marilyn was born in Los Angeles, California on July 30, 1928. During her early years, she worked for the Alameda Shipping Yard, in the Clerical Department. At age 17, Marilyn married William F. Earl. They were married for 49 years when he passed. She leaves behind four children: William, Jack, Steve and Marilee. She leaves 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who will cherish the many memories she left behind.
Marilyn moved to Jacksonville in 1972, where she resided until her death. She loved living in Jacksonville and was always involved in the community. She founded the Southern Oregon Collectors Club where she enjoyed sharing many of her cherished treasures with the club. She owned and operated “The Friendly Barn” gift store and was co-owner of the “Country Sampler.” She was involved with several civic groups, loved history and historical facts and loved to travel.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of Marilyn’s friends who made her world a better place. The family would also like to express its gratitude to the staff at Table Rocks Memory Care, and most especially to personal caregivers Taylor and Brianna. Marilyn was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
