A 10am tour of Jacksonville’s pioneer cemetery will focus on “Art and Artists.” Town historian Larry Smith will offer “Behind the Counter” tours of the 1863 Beekman Bank, the second oldest bank in the Pacific Northwest, at 11:15am, 12:15pm, 1:15pm, and 2:15pm. Then Victorian Hobbies will be the theme when the Jacksonville Museum Quilters join Historic Jacksonville, Inc. at the 1873 Cornelius C. Beekman House, located at 470 E. California Street. From 12n to 4pm Victorian costumed docents will lead House tours of Beekman collections and crafts. Quilters will host an “airing of the quilts,” display items from their personal collections, demonstrate appliqué and hand quilting techniques, and hold a 2pm “bed turning.” Crazy quilt pillows made by Julia Beekman, a Victorian crazy quilt that once belonged to Ginger Rogers, and the Applegate Trail Quilt will be among the featured items.
