International recording artists, GYPSY SOUL return to their home state of Oregon after months of touring the West Coast and Southwest. To celebrate the kick off of their summer touring, the Jacksonville duo is thrilled to announce they’ve been asked back to headline Southern Oregon’s Britt Festival, Saturday, July 16, 2011 for a second year in a row – the only independent band to do so. After garnering almost 1,000 attendees last year, Gypsy Soul is hoping for a record turnout next month.
These award-winning, acoustic soul artists have become the vanguard of independent musicians. Professional performers/writers for twenty plus years, international singer/lyricist, Cilette Swann (Canada) and multi-instrumentalist, Roman Morykit (UK) create exquisitely introspective music that leaves their audiences breathless. Searching for a musical soul mate, Swann traveled to Europe chasing her Celtic roots. After a few years singing in French jazz clubs, her quest took her to Scotland where she met world-class musician and producer, Morykit. The duo has since recorded ten CDs and one full concert Live DVD over a decade.
