The Jacksonville Lions Club, the “pride” of Jacksonville, founded in 1948, is a chapter of Lions Clubs International, the largest service club organization in the world with more than 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs worldwide!

We support a number of charitable sight and hearing organizations, such as the Medford Lions Sight and Hearing Center. We sponsor local educational endeavors, including art contests, spelling bees, the annual Jacksonville Elementary School production at the Britt Festival and a college scholarship. Other projects include collecting stuffed toys with Jacksonville’s first responders and doing an adopt-a-road cleanup twice a year.

We raise funds through a basketball and putt-putt booth at events, such as Octoberfest at Seven Oaks Farm, we do table rentals (1 to 100 available) for gatherings of any size, and we are excited to announce our new American flags program. Details on any of these available services are available from the contacts below.

Men and women of all ages are welcome. One merely needs a desire to have fun while doing good things in a no-pressure group of great folks. Membership fees are small, and Veterans receive a free membership their first year. We currently meet first and third Thursdays over dinner at Black Bear Diner, and dinner is on us for anyone interested in checking us out.

If interested in joining or donating to our Lions Club, please contact Jim Davidian 541-727-1608 or Hew McElroy 573-864-7753.
