Last year, Jackson County Library Services began offering free one-on-one tutorial appointments to help patrons with their various devices. Members of the JCLS Digital Services team have since made weekly visits to each of the library branches in order to help library users learn the ins and outs of their phones, laptops, tablets, eReaders, cameras, and more. Since the advent of the Digital Services department, this service has become increasingly popular among library patrons and appointments at some branches fill up several weeks in advance.

Josh Commander is the member of the Digital Services department who meets with library users each week at the Jacksonville branch library. Josh’s professional background is in Literature and the Digital Humanities, and his previous positions include working as an academic librarian at a private college and a professor at various colleges and universities (including Southern Oregon University). He is also the executive director and general editor of a small nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide free eBooks of literary critical editions for students and the general public. He is delighted to be a part of the JCLS team and looks forward to helping you with your technological needs.

Josh visits the Jacksonville library every Monday from 10:00am to 12:30pm by appointment. Slots fill up quickly, so library users are encouraged to make appointments in advance. Josh can be reached via phone at 541-734-3923 or via email at jcommander@jcls.org. Feel free to drop in during this time and see if you can catch Josh between appointments. He is friendly, and very helpful.
