The 11th Annual AAUW Spring Garden Tour is on Saturday, June 8, 2019, 10:00am-4:00pm and features two Jacksonville gardens on 3rd Street. There are four more gardens in Medford to complete this year’s tour where guests can gather new ideas and enjoy viewing the beauty and variety provided.

The first Jacksonville garden was created by transforming a 0.6 acre space into a peaceful and compact oasis that provides a great example of what can be done without professional help and with minimal expense. It features a large wisteria on a pergola above the driveway that provides an abundance of spring color and a lovely fragrance. Archways covered in fragrant honeysuckles, a weeping mulberry, maple trees, and a variety of flowers and trees add year-round color in this fun and eclectic garden.

Just up the street, a professional landscaper has created a garden with minimal lawn, plants in staggered bloom times, and a variety of colors and textures. Natural, rustic stacked-stone softened by plantings create outdoor “rooms” for enjoyable living. This garden is deer-resistant and has minimal need for chemicals.

For a complete list of all 6 gardens on the tour, please visit the website at www.medford-or.aauw.net. Tickets are $20 (free for children 12 and under) and may be purchased at any Grange Co-op, the Blue Door Garden Store in Jacksonville, Penny & Lulu Studio Florist in Medford, or any of the gardens on tour day. Proceeds provide scholarships for local women and girls.
