Jacksonville Review – May 2026
SPRINGTIME’S JOY and promise is reflected in the beautiful work of the members of the Jacksonville Garden Club at their annual Spring Sale. Using fresh-cut flowers, they create arrangements in a mix of sizes and prices—for a sweet Mother’s Day surprise or a gift to yourself or a friend. The sale will be held this year on Saturday, May 9, 9am-2pm, in the alcove next to the Post Office in downtown Jacksonville.
Plants, as well as lovely handmade cards, all made by Club members, will also be available. After a hiatus of several years, the popular bake sale returns this year, featuring sweets and treats made by Club members—also a nice option for Mother’s Day delight. There is something for everyone at the Spring Sale!
Funds raised go to support local students’ scholarships as well as educational activities at Jacksonville Elementary School. In addition, the Club’s funds and its members’ volunteer energies support local beautification projects at Scheffel-Thurston Park, Jacksonville Community Center, the Post Office and Visitors’ center, the Historic Cemetery, the Police Station, and Doc Griffin Park. Visit the Spring Sale on May 9th and bring home some spring cheer while contributing to a good cause!
