In this strange year, we all are working to keep an even keel while needing to do things somewhat differently. For many years, the Jacksonville Garden Club has offered beautiful holiday arrangements to grace homes and businesses in our area. Some have always been sold via pre-orders and others at the traditional sale venue in early December in the alcove next to the Post Office.
This year, due to the likely continuation of COVID-19 measures, the Club has decided to offer pre-orders only. “We love the camaraderie of making the table arrangements, wreaths, and baskets—and we love adding to the holiday cheer for those who purchase them, especially in this year, when so many people are staying close to home. Having the scent of fresh greens indoors and door wreaths outdoors will be an indicator that some traditions can be maintained even in this unprecedented time,” says Susan Casaleggio, Club President. Once orders come in, our Club members will use their artistry and creativity to handcraft arrangements from fresh greens, candles, holly, and bows, with the intention of having the arrangements completed by early December.
Arrangements can be pre-ordered until November 24, 2020 by contacting Peggy Peffley at 541-778-0857 or peggylpeffley@gmail.com. Delivery of pre-ordered arrangements is offered within a reasonable radius of Jacksonville, or for pick-up at a designated time. As always, proceeds from Garden Club events fund local scholarships and Jacksonville beautification projects. Support a good cause and enjoy the beauty of festive greens during the holidays!
