Jacksonville Friends of the Library was founded almost twenty years ago by local citizens concerned about providing good library service in an adequate building. JFOL knows that a functioning well-run library is crucial for a thriving community. We raised money to provide an expanded meeting room and more amenities than the county was able to provide for our new building, one of many built after a bond issue was passed. For many years, we held book sales to pay for Saturday hours and help put books and other materials on the shelves. Since the bond issue passed several years ago, we no longer have that need. Now we need volunteers to plan and promote programs for adults and children of all ages.

One of the most important is Summer Reading so children don’t lose reading skills during the summer months. We are also in need of board members willing to attend meetings every other month. Donations may be sent to JFOL, P.O. Box 1601, Jacksonville, 97530 to help pay for programs and materials.
