My View – April 2022
There are so many locals who rejoice in telling me that spring is their favorite time of year…it’s really no wonder since the practically perfect weather makes getting out and about a breeze. As it warms up and the hours of sunlight increase, many of us are upping the number of miles we trek in the Woodlands while noting the wildflower explosion…despite a lack of rainfall this season which is, frankly, worrisome.
This April marks the perfect time to get back into the swing of things and get reacquainted with our restaurants, art galleries, shops, wine tasting rooms and all the other fun places town has to offer…best experienced with friends we’ve missed and need to reconnect with. And with deference to the pandemic gods, we’re all looking forward to returning to normal life after two years of total confusion, frustration, isolation, lock downs and utter strange-ness! We owe it to ourselves to get back out there and have some fun.
One sign we’re returning to normal is the number of events highlighted in this April issue of the Review, which should probably be named the Pre-View. Cheers to celebrating spring and the wonderful people in Our Small Town with Big Atmosphere!
Good afternoon Whitman. Michael Spurgin here writing you from Prescott Valley AZ. I have for some time now looked forward each month to your publication. Thank you for the work you put forth for your community. Now that I have buttered you sufficiently I’ll cut to the point. I am seriously thinking of locating to the Jacksonville area and would cherish the opportunity to chat with a Jacksonville resident, preferably a retiree as I am retired. Would you know of someone who would be open to a dialogue that may help in my decision? Thank you for any assistance you may provide.
Hi Michael – please feel free to call our publisher, Whitman Parker at 541-601-1878 – he says he will be happy to speak with you about life in Jacksonville, Oregon – we all love living here!
