Historian Larry Smith leads the second in the series of Healthy History Hikes on March 6, 2016 – a hike along Jacksonville’s mining trails. As you take this easy, three-mile hike along the gravel and mulch paths in the hills above Jacksonville, you’ll learn of the engineering marvels of Rich Gulch, and see where Chinese miners developed innovative methods of salvaging gold from mine tailings.
