Every year in October, our quaint city is transformed into a haunted township. Bone-chilling apparitions and the spirits of frightening characters of yesteryear, return to play out their destiny again and again! The 30-minute trolley tour takes a light-hearted approach to local “hauntings” and features multiple sites throughout Jacksonville with special effects and period character interpretations.
Come one, come all to the “Halloween CarnEVIL and Fun Fair” in Jacksonville. It’s ghoulish fun for everyone! “This year’s carnival theme will be a fun twist on some of the traditional stories about Jacksonville that you may think you know,” says event producer and Chamber Board Member, Arlis Duncan. “Returning visitors will recognize some characters from past tours as well as be introduced to new stories this year,” she adds.
This is the 7th year for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce’s Haunted Trolley Tours and the Chamber of Commerce is excited to reconvene the Haunted Trolley event after a 2-year hiatus post-COVID. We missed the Haunted Trolley event and knew that the public did, as well and are thrilled to be able to sponsor this event once again. It’s so much fun for the Halloween season and also a great fundraising event for our non-profit organization. The tours are a great way to showcase our town and bring people in during the shoulder season. Each night of the tour, we will see over 400 additional people in town, and we want to show them a good time!
Proceeds for the Haunted Trolley event go towards supporting our regular season trolley tours and other visitor services. The Chamber of Commerce would also like to encourage visitors to dine in town before their scheduled tour to further support our local businesses.
2022 Haunted Trolley tour dates are Thursday through Sunday, October 27, 28, 29, 30. This event has sold out in previous years, so we encourage people to purchase tickets online in advance. Visit www.jacksonvilletrolley.org for details. There may be availability on the nights of the tours on a first-come first-served basis.
Volunteers Wanted—As a small organization, our volunteers play an important role in all that we do. If you are interested, know a teen that needs service hours or someone that just loves Halloween and events, we need volunteers for character roles, special effects, set-up and tear down, ticket sales and more! We will provide costumes, makeup, and instructions. Contact the Chamber via email at amanda@jacksonvilleoregon.org with your name, days of availability, area(s) of interest and phone number.
