Apparently, it’s official that the Gold Dust Cafe is closed. The new sign on the door states that the space is for rent for $1800…
The previous sign read,” The Gold Dust Cafe is closed until further notice. If you have a LimeLight deal coupon or a gift certificate, you can redeem it at the Palms Cafe at 501 S. Front Street in Central Point. Thank You.”
The Review has not yet been able to reach the owner, Bobbi Misener.
The Gold Dust Café replaced Jaspers early in the year and was offering up hand-crafted burgers, a variety of gourmet sandwiches and wraps, (including veggie wraps) and classic, old- fashioned malts and shakes.”
People on the street last week expressed concern about Bobbi and her staff. Many folks told The Review that everyone at Gold Dust was nice, gave great service, and that hopefully, the doors will re-open soon.
Say it ain’t so!
Although if they did close, I have to think their hours were part of the problem. Why stay open until juuuust before dinner time, and then close? I can’t tell you how many evenings, at 5:01pm, we thought about going to grab a burger for dinner. Jacksonville could desperately use an affordable, family-friendly place for dinner.
Hoping to see Gold Dust back open soon.
