Gerald J. Senogles, husband, father, friend, and Doctor of Oriental Medicine, died peacefully Thanksgiving evening at his home in Jacksonville, Oregon, with Katy, his wife of 44 years, and their son, Sean, by his side. He is also survived by their daughter, Espere and two grandchildren. He was 84.
Though raised in Minneapolis and Southern California, Jerry traveled widely. An Army veteran happily discharged in 1962 and a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and the New England School of Acupuncture, he ultimately settled in Southern Oregon and opened the first acupuncture clinic between Sacramento and Eugene in 1980. He would continue to practice and help patients as the founder and primary doctor at Medford Acupuncture Clinic until his full retirement in February 2021.
Jerry was a devoted family man who loved to travel, read, walk, laugh, and listen to music. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and humor; and for the positive impact he left on his patients, his family, his friends, and the world around him.
A private burial at The Forest Conservation Burial Grounds was held on December 4.
A Memorial Gathering open to friends and former patients will be held Sunday, December 14, from 3-5pm, at the Magnolia Hotel in Jacksonville, Oregon .
He is loved and will be missed.
